Maine Industrial Tire announces the sale of its China-based pneumatic tire manufacturing assets to Trelleborg Wheel Systems

Wakefield, MA – (February 17, 2011) As part of its global restructuring plan, Maine Industrial Tire LLC (Maine Tire) is announcing the sale of its Hebei, China-based pneumatic tire manufacturing assets to Trelleborg Wheel Systems. Maine Tire will continue to operate and retain ownership over the solid tire portion of the Hebei facility and will have no impact on current solid tire production.

"Although we were continuing to produce pneumatic products under third party brands, the pneumatic business was not core to our long term business strategy. The sale of the pneumatic assets would allow for better alignment of our global resources. Maine Tire will now have a singular focus on its core business – building world-class solid tire products for the conventional forklift, construction and specialty markets," stated Troy Kline, President & C.O.O.

Maine Tire is expanding and optimizing its solid tire production capabilities at the Hebei, China and Red Lion, PA manufacturing facilities, a process that commenced last month with the announcement of the closure of its Gorham, ME manufacturing facility. Maine Tire expects that this transaction and subsequent investment into its facilities will result in a financially stronger and cost competitive company that will better serve its loyal customers.

Maine Industrial Tire launches New Corporate Website

Wakefield, MA – (November 3, 2010) Today, Maine Industrial Tire LLC launched its new website, http://www.mainetire.com. The launching of MaineTire.com provides Maine Industrial Tire with a unique opportunity to reshape its global market footprint and overall brand presence. Maine Industrial Tire currently supplies industry-leading application solutions to the OE and Replacement market channels, and the new website will enable the company to reach out to a broad array of new industrial clients who would benefit from the quality product offerings manufactured and distributed by this company.

The initial launch of MaineTire.com will provide our customers, site visitors and employees with a familiar framework of the company's product offerings, in a static format and functionality that was utilized in the past. Currently in construction, additional functionality will include product segment search capability, standard size search, and an E-Commerce portal for web product ordering.

Through these website improvements, MaineTire.com will be a dynamic tool that will enhance our business and better serve our valued and prospective customers.
Maine Industrial Tire expects the release of the additional website functionality in Q1 2011.
